Today we had our Remembrance Day Ceremony. Tomorrow is Remembrance Day. At 11 AM, take a two minute moment of silence to remember those who fought for our freedom. We started to painted a first coat of primer on our project board. We're putting on primer so that we don't get splinters, and so that the colours that we paint on top will look brighter. Have a nice weekend.
Today we made Remembrance Day art using mixed media. We were making art inspired by Flanders Fields - so including lots of poppies. Most of today was some catch up time because we have a lot of things on the go right now. Photos went home today. If you would like to order any prints, you need to return them tomorrow. Friday is our Remembrance Day assembly. Please remember to wear your collared shirt.
Today in gym we used the birdies and racquets to play a game called Dead Fish. We finished reading Run, and it was a very good book. Terry Fox is a great example of resiliency. Next Tuesday is our first Repsol day. Tomorrow is a PD day so there is no school for students. In Social Studies we were making guesses about the roles of different levels of government, as well as their leaders and other government members. Today was also our last day of intramurals for now.
It is the first day of November - don't forget to start wearing poppies. Today in math we used tacks and ribbon to make a grid on our project board. We needed 36 spaces in the grid but we only got 35. We can still make this work though by using the remaining space and counting it as a full grid space. In gym, we started working on badminton skills by using balloons. We worked on our animal project that is almost fully finished. Just a reminder that our Repsol trips start next Tuesday.
